What to wear. The all-important question for us women, especially if our partner is taking us out for a special date this Valentine’s.
To me, accessorising can often be trickier than finding the right dress. Accessories are key to completing our look, and when done right, achieves that elusive balance of effortless elegance that we all covet.
This is why I love pearls – they are inherently chic, and their versatility makes them the perfect accessory, no matter what or where the date is.
Picnics
Casual and fun, this is the perfect opportunity to wear more playful pearl jewellery, such as a wire necklace with a multi-coloured strand of Tahitian pearls, Golden and White South Sea pearls.
Or simply pair a classic Tahitian pearl set with your fashionable sundress and sunnies for that ‘I just threw this on but I totally look a million bucks’ look.
Lunch date
You’ve got that perfect dress or top – now up that feminine vibe with these classy, unfussy options. Simple matching sets work great for lunch dates, it shows you’ve put in the effort but haven’t slaved over it (which is important!).
Styling ideas: Pair a Golden South Sea pearl floating necklace with matching earrings, or a White South Sea pearl wire necklace with matching earring studs.
Dinner date – smart casual
Dinner date – glamorous
For dinner dates, I love choosing jewellery that are classic, yet have a modern twist. For more relaxed venues where I let my (carefully) curled hair down, I like wearing drop earrings and adjustable necklaces – a bump up the sophistication notch.
For a glamorous night out (lucky you!), you can’t go wrong with diamonds and pearls – it’s a match made in heaven. Bold colours work well here, so opt for heavier Golden South Sea pendants and earrings, or dark Tahitian pearls.
There’s still a couple of weeks left to go till Valentine’s, so if you get stuck and need more ideas, feel free to reach out, we’d love to hear from you.
With that, we wish you a beautiful, romantic Happy Valentine’s!
